Maki is a member of the firm’s debt investment committee and an equity owner of the firm. He is a co-portfolio manager for Heitman Real Estate Debt Partners and Heitman Core Real Estate Debt Income Trust. He manages a team that structures, originates and services senior and mezzanine debt opportunities across all property sectors. Additionally, as head of capital markets, he oversees debt financings for acquisitions of core and value-added assets, along with financing the firm’s existing portfolio. Previously, Maki was head of North American capital markets at RREEF, national head of real estate mezzanine finance for LaSalle Bank Corporation, and managing director in the real estate merchant banking group at Wells Fargo. Maki has earned an MBA from the University of Michigan, in the US, and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.
